What is ISTSE School Exam?

A paper-based scholarship olympiad conducted through registered schools.

ISTSE School Exam is designed for schools that want to offer a structured, skill-based scholarship olympiad to their students. The exam is conducted inside the school campus during school hours.

Students participate through their school, while the school coordinates registrations, exam arrangements and communication with ISTSE.

The school exam is a single paper with multiple-choice questions from Mental & Logical Ability, Mathematics, Science, English and Scholars Section.

International Scholarship

International topper of each class may receive the school-exam scholarship and recognition.

International Topper₹1,800/month for 12 months + International Topper Shield
Note: Each winner is entitled to one award only. The winner will receive the higher-level award if eligible under multiple categories.

Class Level Awards and Recognition

Class topper awards are based on the number of students participating in a particular class within the school.

50 or more studentsTop 3 class toppers receive cash prizes and Gold/Silver/Bronze medals.
25 to 49 studentsFirst topper receives cash prize + Gold Medal. Second and third receive medals.
15 to 24 studentsTop 3 class toppers receive Gold/Silver/Bronze medals.
5 to 14 studentsFirst class topper receives Gold Medal.

School Level Awards and Scholarship

Large participating schools can qualify for school topper scholarships and shields.

500 or more studentsTop 3 school toppers may receive ₹1,500 / ₹1,000 / ₹500 per month for 12 months + shields.
325 to 499 studentsFirst school topper may receive ₹1,500/month for 12 months + School Topper Shield.
School topper selection: Student should score at least 60%, be a class topper, and rank highest by percentile and subject-wise tie-breaker rules.

  1. Student should get minimum 60% marks in the ISTSE examination.
  2. Student must be a class topper for the current ISTSE exam.
  3. Highest percentile in the current ISTSE exam among class toppers is considered.
  4. If tied, higher percentile in Scholars Section is considered.
  5. Then Mathematics, Science, Mental & Logical Ability and English are considered in sequence.
  6. If still tied, the school recommendation based on academic record may be required.

Common questions before school registration

A school representative such as principal, coordinator or teacher should register the school for the paper-based school exam.

No. Individual students should use the Online Olympiad registration flow. School Olympiad is meant for school-based participation only.

The paper-based exam is conducted inside the registered school premises during school hours.

Students of Classes 1 to 10 can participate through their registered school.

Classes 1 to 4 have 35 questions. Classes 5 to 10 have 50 questions. The exam duration is 60 minutes.
