About ISTSE

Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) is international level talent search examination for Indian Schools. It is an incomparable educational measurement and assessment service.

ISTSE is a scientifically designed, skill-based assessment test to get the strengths and weaknesses of individual students.

ISTSE is designed to assess the overall intellectual potential of the students from class 1 to 10.

It uses conceptual; multiple-choice questions to focus on measuring how well SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying the school syllabus have been understood by the student.

 

ISTSE is a single paper examination, open to all the students of class 1 to 10. Quetion paper will be comparising questions from Mental & Logical Ability, Mathematics, Science and English.

60 minutes video interview of 100 marks will be conducted for top 10 marks holders to decide the top 10 ranks.

How It Works?
(For Direct / Individual Students)

It's an online test open to all the students of class 1 to 10. You can participate in this test from the comfort of your home. You need a laptop/desktop/tablet with webcam and live internet connection.

3. Mock Test

Each students will be provided with 3 mock test. Attempt provided mock tests and evaluate your preparation.

4. Final Test

How It Works?
(Through School - Paper-based/Online Exam)

ISTSE has been conducting Offline examination (paper-based) exam in Schools over the past years; However, due to the current global situation, it has proposed to conduct ISTSE Online exam for giving a better opportunity for the students to appear in the exam from the comfort of their home. However, if the situation improves and returns to normalcy, the offline paper-based option will only be available subject to reopening of the school.

This year, ISTSE exam for Schools will be conducted in two ways:

  1. Paper-based exam, which will be conducted on a tentative date (25th November 2020) depending on the physical reopening of the school. The student needs to fill the form in the school and the exam will be conducted in the school premises during school hours. The respective forms will be sent by us.
  2. Online exam will be conducted online on 25th November 2020. Students need to fill the registration form through school and exam will be conducted Online. Student will be required to use computer/tablet/smartphone with web-camera and a live internet connection to appear in the exam.
    Requirement for Online Exam:
    • A computer (Laptop or Desktop) with working web-camera or Tablet or Smartphone with camera
    • Live internet connection with >=512 kbps speed
    The test link will be available on the communicated date & time, and the students can appear in the exam online from the comfort of their home.

1. Fill examimation from

Any class 1 - 10 student studying in participating school. Ask your teacher about ISTSE exam form.

2. Prepare

Go through the Syllabus and marking scheme. Prepare for exam based on described syllabus

3. Final Test

Appear in the paper based exam conducted inside school campus during school hours or appear in online exam on communicated date & time from your home.

4. Result

Note:
Minimum of 60% marks in the ISTSE-Online Examination is required to get a scholarship. If none of the students is scoring 60% marks, then the scholarship will not be awarded to any student.
In case of any confusion, decision of the Academic Council will be final & binding.

Ranking Criteria

In case two or more students score the same number of marks, ranks will be determined on the basis of the following criteria (Weightage will be given from top to bottom):

Rule 1 - The student who will get more marks in Scholars’ Section will get higher rank.

Rule 2 - The student who will get more marks in Math will get higher rank.

Rule 3 - The student who will get more marks in Science will get higher rank.

Rule 4 - Student who will get more marks in Mental & Logical Ability will get higher rank.

Rule 5 - Student who will get more marks in English will get higher rank.

Rule 6 - Time taken by student in completing the exam paper. The student who has taken lesser time will get higher rank.

Rule 7 - If two students get the same marks, the student who is younger in age will be given preference..

Rule 1
: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is 50 or more

The First Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of ₹1500 + Gold Medal.

The Second Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of ₹1000 + Silver Medal.

The Third Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of ₹500 + Bronze Medal.

Rule 2
: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 25 and 49

The First Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of ₹1500 + Gold Medal.

The Second Topper from that particular class will get Silver Medal (No Cash Prize).

The Third Topper from that particular class will get Bronze Medal (No Cash Prize).

Rule 3
: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 15 and 24

The First Topper from that particular class will get a Gold Medal (No Cash Prize)

The Second Topper from that particular class will get a Silver Medal (No Cash Prize)

The Third Topper from that particular class will get get a Bronze Medal (No Cash Prize)

Rule 4
: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 5 and 14

The First Topper from that particular class will get a Gold Medal (No Cash Prize)

(No Medals will be given to the Second and Third Topper.)

School Level Awards and Scholarship

Rule 1
: If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes is 500 or more

First School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of ₹1500 for 12 months + School Topper Shield

Second School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of ₹1000 for 12 months + First Runner Up Shield

Third School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of ₹500 for 12 months + Second Runner Up Shield

Rule 2
: If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes is between 325 & 499

First School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of ₹1500 for 12 months + School Topper Shield

(No Scholarship will be given to the Second and Third Topper.)

Selection of School Topper

Rule 1 - Should have got minimum 60% marks in the ISTSE Examination.

Rule 2 - Must be a Class Topper for the current ISTSE Exam.

Rule 3 - Must have got the highest percentile in the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

Rule 4 - Must have got the highest percentile in Scholars’ Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

Rule 5 - Must have got the highest percentile in Mathematics Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

Rule 6 - Must have got the highest percentile in Science Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

Rule 7 - Must have got the highest percentile in Mental & Logical Ability Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

Rule 8 - Must have got the highest percentile in English Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

In case of a tie based on the above criteria, the School recommendation (based on academic records) will be required.

International Scholarship

International Topper of each class will get a scholarship of ₹1800 per month for 12 months + International Topper Shield.

It's an Online Exam open to all class 1 to 10 students. Student have to register themselves online at istse.org.

ISTSE is committed towards the fair conduction of the examination. We are the first and only online talent exams for school kids with anti-cheating tools to prevent any malpractice during the exam.
